The Journey
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pickup in Nairobi, where you’ll meet your professional driver-guide and depart southwards in a comfortable 4×4 Land Cruiser. The drive takes you through scenic countryside with views of local homesteads and open plains, arriving in Amboseli by late morning. After check-in and lunch at your lodge, you’ll have time to relax and soak in your surroundings before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is famous for its vast elephant herds and striking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. As the sun begins to set, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park – Full Day Game Drive
After an early breakfast, you set out for a full-day game drive in Amboseli with a packed picnic lunch. The day is dedicated entirely to wildlife exploration across the park’s open plains, swamps, and seasonal lakes. You’ll track elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and a wide variety of birdlife, with Kilimanjaro providing a dramatic backdrop on clear days. Midday, you’ll stop at a scenic spot to enjoy your picnic lunch before continuing with game viewing in different sections of the park. In the late afternoon, you return to the lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 3: Amboseli to Tsavo National Park
Following breakfast, you depart Amboseli and journey towards Tsavo National Park in your 4×4 Land Cruiser. The drive offers changing landscapes as you transition from Amboseli’s open plains to Tsavo’s rugged wilderness. You’ll arrive at your Tsavo lodge in time for lunch and check-in. After a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive, exploring Tsavo’s vast terrain known for its red elephants, lava flows, dramatic hills, and rich wildlife. As evening falls, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Tsavo National Park
This day is spent fully immersed in Tsavo’s wild beauty. After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. You’ll explore different parts of the park, spotting elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and diverse bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation during the heat of the day. Later in the afternoon, head out again for another game drive, capturing the park’s raw landscapes and wildlife encounters as the sun sets. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Tsavo to Diani Beach (Road Transfer)
After breakfast, you depart Tsavo and begin your scenic road journey to the coast. The drive gradually descends from the savannah into lush coastal landscapes, arriving in Diani Beach in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your beach resort and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, unwinding by the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Dinner and overnight at your Diani hotel.
Day 6-7: Diani Beach – Leisure
This day is reserved for relaxation and optional beach activities. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and spend the day as you wish—swimming, sunbathing, strolling along the beach, or simply enjoying the resort facilities. Take in the calm ocean views, enjoy fresh seafood, or relax by the pool. This is the perfect contrast to the earlier safari days, allowing you to unwind fully before departure. Optional activities such as snorkelling, dolphin tours, or spa treatments can be arranged at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Diani to Ukunda Airport – Fly to Nairobi
After breakfast and check-out, you’ll be transferred from your Diani hotel to Ukunda Airport. You’ll then board your scheduled domestic flight from Ukunda to Nairobi, marking the end of a beautifully balanced safari and beach experience with Sovereign Adventures & Safaris.
