The Journey

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

You will be picked up early from your Nairobi hotel and embark on a scenic drive north to Samburu National Reserve approx. 5–6 hours. Enjoy the dramatic landscapes of northern Kenya along the way, with occasional stops for refreshments and photos. Upon arrival at your lodge, you’ll have time to settle in and refresh before a late afternoon game drive. Samburu is famous for its unique wildlife including Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, and Somali ostriches. As the sun sets, return to the lodge for dinner under the starlit sky. Overnight at your lodge in Samburu.

Day 2: Full Day in Samburu

Rise early for a spectacular sunrise game drive, the best time to spot predators returning from the night hunt. You may encounter lions, leopards, or elephants along the Ewaso Nyiro River. After breakfast, continue exploring the reserve. In the afternoon, there’s an optional visit to a Maasai village, where you can experience the culture, traditions, and daily life of the local community. Return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation and dinner. Overnight at your Samburu lodge.

Day 3: Samburu – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive south towards Ol Pejeta Conservancy approx. 6–7 hours. Stop en route for lunch and brief breaks to stretch and enjoy the scenery. Arrive in Ol Pejeta by late afternoon. Here, you can enjoy a short evening game drive before settling into your lodge. Ol Pejeta is renowned for its rhino sanctuary, so keep your camera ready. Overnight at your lodge in Ol Pejeta.

Day 4: Ol Pejeta – Aberdare Ranges

Begin the day with an early morning game drive in Ol Pejeta. Spot the Big Five, including the black rhino, and enjoy sightings of lions, elephants, and cheetahs. After a hearty brunch, depart for the Aberdare Ranges approx. 5–6 hours, descending into lush montane forests and scenic valleys. Arrive at your lodge in time for a late afternoon walk or optional nature activity. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in the Aberdare.

Day 5: Full Day in the Aberdare

Spend the day exploring the diverse landscapes of the Aberdare National Park. Opt for game drives to spot elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and abundant birdlife. The park’s highland forests and bamboo groves offer an entirely different safari experience from Samburu and Ol Pejeta. You can enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the scenic viewpoints or relax at your lodge. Return in the evening for a cozy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Aberdare – Nairobi

After an early breakfast, take a final morning game drive or forest walk before departing for Nairobi approx. 3–4 hours. Stop along the way for photos and refreshments. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your unforgettable Kenyan safari adventure.
