You will be met in Nairobi by your professional safari guide and depart early in a private 4x4 luxury Land Cruiser, travelling north through the fertile central highlands and onward to the dramatic semi-arid landscapes of Samburu, approx. 6–7 hours’ drive. Arrival is in the early afternoon, followed by a relaxed check-in and lunch at your luxury lodge. Later in the afternoon, head out for your first game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River, a lifeline for wildlife in this region. Expect sightings of elephants, crocodiles and Samburu’s rare species including Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight.
Samburu National Reserve – Full Day Game drive
After an early breakfast, depart for a morning game drive when predators and elephants are most active. The rugged terrain and riverine forest offer excellent chances of spotting lions, leopards and large elephant families. You will return to the lodge mid-morning for a late breakfast and time to relax by the pool or enjoy the lodge facilities. After lunch, head out again for an afternoon game drive, exploring deeper sections of the reserve as the golden light enhances wildlife photography. Dinner and overnight at your luxury lodge.
Samburu – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Following breakfast, check out and drive south towards Ol Pejeta Conservancy approx. 4–5 hours’ drive, arriving around midday. After lunch and check-in at your luxury tented camp or lodge, enjoy an afternoon game drive within the conservancy. Ol Pejeta is renowned for its successful rhino conservation program and offers excellent chances of seeing black and white rhinos, elephants, lions and plains game. A visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary can be included if desired. Return to camp in the early evening for dinner and overnight.
Ol Pejeta – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, depart Ol Pejeta and journey through the scenic Rift Valley escarpments towards Lake Nakuru approx. 5–6 hours’ drive. Arrival is around lunchtime, followed by check-in and lunch at your luxury lodge overlooking the lake. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive around the lake and surrounding acacia woodland. Lake Nakuru is a prime rhino sanctuary and is also home to Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes and, at times, flamingos. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight.
Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and drive via Narok to the iconic Masai Mara, approx. 5–6 hours’ drive. You will arrive in the early afternoon, check in to your luxury tented camp and enjoy lunch. Later, set out for an introductory afternoon game drive across the vast plains of the Mara, renowned for its exceptional concentration of wildlife. Expect encounters with elephants, giraffes and possibly lions and cheetahs. Return to camp at sunset for dinner and overnight.
Masai Mara National Reserve – Full Day (Optional Maasai Village Visit)
After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive, allowing you to explore different regions of the reserve at an unhurried pace. You will track the Big Five and spend time along the Mara River, home to hippos and crocodiles. Alternatively, the day can be split into a morning and afternoon game drive with leisure time at the camp in between.
An optional visit to a traditional Maasai village can be arranged either after the morning game drive or en route back to camp in the afternoon, offering insight into the Maasai culture, traditions and way of life. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Masai Mara – Nairobi
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning game drive as you exit the reserve. You will then begin your return journey to Nairobi in your private 4x4 Land Cruiser approx. 5–6 hours’ drive, arriving in the late afternoon.
